Staff Reports – According to historical research, Flora Batson (1864–1906) was a popular and well-known concert singer, nicknamed “The Double-Voiced Queen of Song” because of her soprano-baritone range. She was often compared to the great Jenny Lind in the press.

Supply chain perils, vaccine breakthroughs of coronavirus variants, people not wanting to return to work because they were making more on unemployment, along with other pandemic woes, has made 2021 only slightly less challenging than 2020. More than six thousand passengers and crew boarded the Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas cruise ship in Miami, on December 11. Passengers felt it was safe to finally enjoy a vacation on the water as the cruise line required all adults 12 years and older to be fully vaccinated for coronavirus. However, it was docked at PortMiami, Saturday, December 18, with 48 passengers that became ill and tested positive for COVID-19. Those that tested positive were reportedly taken to quarantine immediately.
