Last week, Governor Ron DeSantis awarded more than $8.7 million to nine small and rural Florida communities through the Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for housing and community development activities. The Town of Mayo and the City of High Springs were among the nine.

Last week, Governor Ron DeSantis directed the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) to suspend the availability of school choice scholarships to four schools that have direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Lake City, Fla., – Beginning Sunday, October 1, 2023, Columbia County’s Animal Enforcement Department will begin enforcing all county ordinances and state statutes involving animal control within Columbia County. It is important to note the following in regard to the function of this new Columbia County department:
