On May 7, 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 35 into law. The Legal Notices Bill, which originally sought to remove newspaper publishing requirements all together, in what they called ‘modernizing’ the way legal notices were published, has been amended. After the compromise, the bill passed with a vote of 105 Y’s to 9 N’s.

The HCA Healthcare North Florida Division announced today the departure of Lake City Medical Center CEO Rick Naegler who has accepted the Chief Executive Officer position at a regional medical center in his home state of Missouri. His last day with the hospital is Wednesday, June 9. Jill Adams, Lake City Medical Center CFO will serve as Interim CEO while a national search is conducted.

Today, according to the Governor's Press Office, after issuing an executive order to invalidate all remaining local emergency orders based on the COVID-19 emergency, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 21-102, suspending all remaining local government mandates and restrictions based on the COVID-19 State of Emergency. He also signed new legislation (SB 2006) banning vaccine passports and stem government overreach in Florida.

Wellborn, Fla., – Hearthstone Botanical Gardens is pleased to announce that the Japanese Garden is now open to the public to enjoy. Work on the garden began in January of 2020, and the garden was dedicated April 24, 2021.
