No Insurance? No more FREE COVID tests

Staff Reports

Lake City, Fla., – In a March 23, 2022 release from Columbia/Hamilton County Health Departments, by Administrator Thomas Moffses, M.Ed., the Curative COVID-19 Testing site in Columbia County will no longer be able to allow free COVID-19 testing to individuals that do not have health insurance due to a change in federal funding.

Their statement is below:

"Due to lack of Federal funding for COVID-19 testing across the country, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has announced that it is no longer able to accept claims for COVID-19 testing of uninsured patients. (If there are no changes or no additional funding allocated from congress) Curative is no longer able to test patients at no cost who are uninsured in Florida effective immediately."

The testing site is located at:
1468 SW McFarlane Ave
Lake City, FL 32025
Their hours of operation are now: Monday-Friday from 8 am - 4 pm. Reservations can be made using their online portal:
