Obit, Obituary

In Memory of ROBERT “BOB” JOHN EAKEN

February 15, 1945 – February 24, 2022

Robert “Bob” John Eaken, age 77, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2022. His family rejoices that he is now dancing on heavenly streets of gold!

Bob was a member of Christ Central Live Oak Church where his servant’s heart showed through in everything he did. The scripture, Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” was what he lived by. Whether it was mowing the grass, picking up limbs, serving in Children’s Church or doing maintenance around the church, he was committed to doing everything with excellence to honor the Lord.

Being a “behind the scenes” person, he never desired recognition as he gave quietly to help someone in need or visited with church family who just needed to know they were loved. He was a man full of faith with a great servant’s heart who loved to worship the Lord and pray.

Bob’s family never doubted his love as he provided, guided and watched over each of them. He was compassionate, fair and full of wisdom. His most treasured moments were time spent with his family. He will be missed by many.

Bob was also a member of American Patriots of Live Oak.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy Eaken and one son, Christopher Eaken.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Marilynn Eaken; two sons, Joshua Eaken and Robert M. Eaken; three daughters, Jeanette Sebastian (David Striplin), Michelle Eaken and Loraine Roman; six grandchildren, Michayla Weatherly, Thomas Sebastian, Dennis Sebastian, Kyle Sebastian, Alexandra Roman Harris and Julyssa Roman; one great granddaughter, Neveah Rose Sebastian and one brother George (Wanda) Eaken.

Bob’s final resting place will be at Hillsborough Memorial Gardens, Brandon, FL.

Please keep his family in prayer in the days ahead.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, 11:00 am at Christ Central Live Oak Church in Live Oak, FL.
