Update on SNAP Benefits During Federal Government Shutdown

NOVEMBER BENEFITS WILL BE DELAYED

LCPD - The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) has released information about how the federal government shutdown is affecting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). SNAP is administered by DCF and funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

October 2025 SNAP benefits will be issued as scheduled for eligible Floridians. However, November benefits will be delayed until federal funding resumes. DCF will continue to process all applications and renewals, but no November benefits will be added to EBT cards at this time.

Residents may continue using any remaining balance on their EBT cards and can check their balance by visiting ebtEDGE.com. Medicaid and Temporary Cash Assistance programs are not affected by the shutdown at this time.

Chief Gerald Butler said, “We know this situation is difficult for families in our community. Please stay informed through official DCF updates and avoid submitting duplicate applications, as this can slow down processing.”

Updates will be shared as new information becomes available. For more details, visit https://snap.myflfamilies.com.
