Boris Brothers Named Save A Lot’s Retail Partner of the Year

By Tami Stevenson
Local Save A Lot owners Mike and Mark Boris were named retail partners of the year by the Save A Lot grocery chain during an annual meeting and food show for store owners and operators in St. Charles, Missouri recently.
The Boris brothers have been known for years at the Lake City and Live Oak stores for their hands-on, friendly approach to running their stores. Their customers have always been their number one priority. Today they own six Save A Lot grocery stores. The other four are located in Perry, Cross City, Chiefland and Macclenny. They also own an IGA in Carrabelle, Florida (in the panhandle).
According to the release, the award went to them because they cultivate a culture of training, promoting from within and investing in their teams, which has created strong personal connections and loyalty across their team. They consistently operate full, fresh, friendly and clean stores and continue to invest in their business with four remodels and new stores to ensure continued future growth for their company and business.
“Our team of great people is really what’s enabled our continued success” said Mike Boris, store owner. “We’ve had people with us for years who are committed to bringing the very best to our customers. We’ve got the best meat in the market, freshest produce available and store leadership ready and willing to do whatever it takes to deliver for our customers. Our people make this success story possible.”
“The Boris Brothers have built a tremendous legacy in the Save A Lot network through a commitment to outstanding performance as well as to building culture inside their stores,” said Leon Bergmann, CEO of Save A Lot. “We are truly appreciative to have Mike and Mark running their stores with the Save A Lot brand on their buildings.”
