Live Oak, Fla., – RIVEROAK’s Career Fair and Program Showcase recently held its event on the grounds where everyone came together there for the first time in two years. Visitors, students and exhibitors certainly enjoyed the one-on-one communication, evidenced by the exceptional participation the college received. It is estimated that approximately 900 middle, high school, and private school students, community members, and guests attended event, according to RIVEROAK Principal and Director Mary Keen.

Due to the COVID pandemic, the two prior years, 2020 and 2021, the event was held online only. Although they reported good results, it’s not the same as being there.

There were 48 community agencies and businesses represented, along with booths for RIVEROAK’s 20 postsecondary programs, all set up outside handing out information and answering questions. All branches of the military were in attendance, as well as the Sheriff’s Department, FHP, Live Oak Police Department, Suwannee Fire and Rescue and Corrections. Those seeking a career, along with the undecided, were given the opportunity to speak with representatives from each agency or program offered, to help them decide which career would be best for them.

“RIVEROAK’s Career Fair and Program Showcase was exemplary and could not have been accomplished without our instructors, students, and community members. I would especially like to thank Traci Henderson, who coordinated this successful event for us,” Director Keen commented. “We look forward to our Career Fair and Program Showcase yearly, as it brings the community together for one main purpose; to assist individuals in pursuing their career goals. We are blessed to live in such a wonderful community!
