Live Oak, Fla., – At the November general meeting of the Live Oak Garden Club, members welcomed Barbara Clark, RPA, MSA who is an archaeologist with the North Central & Northwest, Florida Public Archaeology Network from the University of West Florida.
Ms. Clark gave a very interesting talk of how the Native Americans in the North Florida area utilized plants to provide food, shelter, clothing, medicine, and transportation to survive. She told us about several archaeological digs in which she participated involving burial sites and canoes found in dried up lakes.
