Sinkhole Closes U.S. 90, Road Reopened Tuesday

A social media video posted from Live Oak Police Department captured the moment the pavement began to give way.

Late Monday afternoon in Live Oak, a sink hole appeared on eastbound U.S. 90 near Dowling Avenue. The road was temporarily closed.
The Florida Department of Transportation and City of Live Oak crews worked all night to fill the hole (which opened into a full circle and appeared large enough to swallow a vehicle).

Crews covered it with a metal plate and the road was re-opened early Tuesday. 
Officials will continue to monitor and gather details about what steps the City needs to take for permanent repairs.
