Alachua County Judge appointed to Circuit Judge

Yesterday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced a judicial appointment to the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court.

Kristine Van Vorst, of Gainesville, was chosen to serve as Judge on the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court.

     Van Vorst has served as a county court judge for Alachua County since 2017. Previously, she served as a General Magistrate in the Eighth Judicial Circuit. She earned both her bachelor’s degree and juris doctor from the University of Florida. Van Vorst fills the judicial vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Moseley.

     Florida’s Eighth Judicial Circuit includes Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Gilchrist, Levy and Union Counties.
