Roberta Rudish Simpson, age 98, of Burkeville, Virginia, formally of Bullock, North Carolina and Live Oak, Florida, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ray E. Simpson; and her beloved son-in-law, Roy I. (Beau) Elliot, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Amy C. Simpson of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Deborah S. Elliot, of Crewe, Virginia; her grandson, James Elliot (Katy); and two great-grandchildren, Seamus and Fiona, of Dublin, Virginia.
Roberta was an avid craft person and loved to cook. She loved bowling and square dancing. She worked tirelessly volunteering with civic groups and The Spirit of the Suwannee campgrounds in Florida, helping to keep the “Pickin Shed” going. She was active with the North Florida Bluegrass Association.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
Services will be private.
