It’s estimated that one in five Floridians has unclaimed property with an average claim of $825. Check it out!

Last week, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis sent out a press release encouraging citizens to visit FLTreasureHunt.gov to check and search to see if they have unclaimed property in the state of Florida. He added that last month the Unclaimed Property Team returned more than $42 million in unclaimed property.

     Visitors to the easy to navigate sight can also search for a deceased spouse, for instance, to see if they have any unclaimed property they may be entitled to. There may be a refund from a company or organization that has been sitting there for years that you or your spouse once did business with.

     “It’s estimated that one in five Floridians has unclaimed property just waiting to be claimed, with an average claim of $825.” Patronis stated in the release. “A pot of gold may be waiting for you in our unclaimed property vault – claim it!”
